Felicity Cloake’s Adventures in Food, in conversation with Emily Chappell

14 April: GOSFORTH Civic Theatre.

15 April: YORK Crescent.

16 April SETTLE Victoria Hall.

23 May BECCLES Public Hall (part of the Beccles Food Festival – show starts 5pm). Tickets on sale soon

The Guardian’s Felicity Cloake shares stories from her culinary travels, in conversation with adventurer and author Emily Chappell (please note: Emily is only hosting on the April dates) .

Felicity travels the world looking for food: she’s cycled round France in search of the perfect croissant; toured the UK comparing breakfasts; and these events tie in with the paperback launch of her latest book, ‘‘Peach Street to Lobster Lane’, based on a coast-to-coast trip across America in the election year of 2023..

Felicity has written the Guardian’s ‘How to Make the Perfect…’ column since 2009 and is author of six acclaimed books.

Emily Chappell, of course, has been a popular guest in her own right at our shows many times and is best-known for her books What Goes Around (about her life as a bike messenger) and Where There’s A Will (about her forays into endurance bike racing.)

Praise for Felicity Cloake

‘Pure delight from first page to last’ – Matthew Fort
‘Whether you are an avid cyclist, a Francophile, a greedy gut, or simply an appreciator of impeccable writing – this book will get you hooked’ – Yotam Ottolenghi

Hi Helen, Hopefully we will have some more shows with her, but these dates are specifically because she has never done any shows in the north before! One slightly nearer (that isn’t on sale yet) will be at the Beccles Food Festival (in Suffolk; you’ll know) at 4pm on Saturday 23 May. Duncan
